Journeys In Motion

Mission Trip to Alaska
In the summer of 2009 our All Saints youth traveled to Homer, Alaska to build a labyrinth garden at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church.  A mission trip usually offers spiritual fulfillment but this one was particularly special because this congregation had been waiting for a church building more than 40 years!  Join us as we relive those memories and "Journey to Alaska" to watch these young Christian men and women at work and at play.
Pilgrimage to New York
A pilgrimage is not meant to be easy.  It can be demanding physically, emotionally and spiritually. But in the midst of the harder parts, we often find tremendous gifts of joy, laughter, growth and friendship that lasts a lifetime.  This 2010 pilgrimage to New York City was all of that and more.  As you view this video, listen carefully to the music and try to imagine what must have been going through the minds of these 13 young people as they took in the sights and sounds of NYC.
Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic
In June of 2011 All Saints sponsored two youth mission trips to the Dominican Republic (DR). The first group was comprised of high-school age youth (J2A) and the second group was made up of college age youth. Each group got to spend a full week in the DR. The primary mission of both teams was to paint a new shelter at Cristo Salvador which is just one of the two churches that All Saints established a relationship with last fall, the other being La Anunciacion. Cristo Salvador is located in the barrio, Bella Vista, an extremely poor section of Santiago. When leading a mission trip with youth or adults, one of the most important transformations that you work towards in the group is that of moving beyond personal or individual identities. As you view this video, which focuses on the J2A trip, I think you will agree that this transformation was evident. Both teams did their part in helping to paint this new building over the course of two weeks in June. It was a big job but gloriously accomplished. The shelter opened in August 2011.
